Project Support Consultant (PSC) to the Agricultural Financial Services & Bank Capacity Building Manager for Agricultural Credit Activities

Educational / Professional Qualifications, Experience & Skills  

This poThe preferred person must have the following educational/professional qualification, experience and skills:
 -A minimum of a good first degree in any of the following areas Economics, Business, Banking & Finance, Agricultural Sciences and Development Studies.
- Knowledge of the banking sector in Ghana, rural financing/banking, financial services, credit management, and financial systems.
-At least 4 years experience in project management including contract administration
- Familiarity with the agricultural sector, in particular the crop sub-sector, will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical, presentation, interpersonal and report writing skills.

  • A good first degree in Mechanical/Agric Engineering
  • At least five (5) years post qualification experience in agriculture infrastructure
    management i.e. in Irrigation and post harvest structures.
  • Experience in project management including contract administration
  • Familiarity with management of agriculture infrastructure projects funded by International Funding Agencies especially in the area of transportation and agriculture
    infrastructures.
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal, and writing of technical report skills
  • Conversant with MS Office.

Job Purpose

Organise needs assessment and identification and contribute to Program Design, for solicited and unsolicited Programs, either as pilot or full-scale national Programs.

Research national development themes and propose bankable developmental programmes relating to economic growth and poverty reduction, for funding by the  Government of Ghana and/or Development Partners, with a view to building on the 2006 Compact, and advancing and sustaining the goals of the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA), as defined in Acts 702 & 709 (Amendment), 2006.

Educational / Professional Qualifications, Experience & Skills  

This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast-paced economic environment.

  • Advanced degree (MA/MSc) or more in Development Economics/Studies, International Relations or other relevant fields, with extensive work experience (at least 10 years) in a relevant field.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and strategic skills and a significant track record of both conceptual and operational work.
  • Proven success in Grant Proposal writing, networking and liaising with Development Partners.
  • Proven Project Management experience and organisational ability for working on several Projects at the same time.
  • Excellent working experience in International donor/development partnership operations
  • Conversant with the Ghana Poverty Reduction Strategy II
  • Ability to communicate, influence and negotiate with high Government and Development Partnership Officials.
  • Ability to build good working relationships with a range of Professionals/Consultants, across various sectors of the economy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in oral presentations and in writing.
