Dorothy Gyamfi

Dorothy Gyamfi has been MiDA’s Legal Counsel and Board Secretary since February, 2007. Dorothy holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana and a Post Graduate Law Diploma from the Ghana School of Law.She also holds an M.A in International Relations from the Center for International Affairs, University of Ghana, Legon, as well as a Certificate in Commercial Law and Practice from the Crown Agents Training Center, U.KPrior to her appointment as Legal Counsel for MiDA, Ms. Gyamfi came from a background rich with fifteen years post-qualification experience in cross border transactions spanning project finance, engineering construction, employment, aviation and gold mining. She began her career with the Ghana Airways Company Limited, and later joined Awoonor Law Consultancy as an Associate Barrister and Solicitor. She then joined the mining industry as in-house counsel first for Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited now AngloGold Ashanti Limited and then for Newmont Ghana Gold Limited.Dorothy is a Member of the Ghana Bar Association, Federation of Women Lawyers and a Commissioner of the Securities & Exchange Commission, Ghana.
