MiDA HOLDS PROCUREMENT TRAINING ON PROMOTING COMPETITION AMONG LOCAL & INTERNATIONAL CONSULTANTS FOR MiDA CONTRACTS

Participants listening to a presentation by Mr. Fuseini Abu, Director of Procurement, MiDA

The Millennium Development Authority, MiDA, has held a day’s training workshop for prospective bidders interested in service contract opportunities under the Ghana Power Compact II Programme.

The workshop came on the back of a similar event organised in March this year, which sought to orient participants on MiDA/MCC procurement opportunities and procedures.

Ing. Owura Kwaku Sarfo, Chief Executive Officer of MiDA, addressed participants and assured them of MiDA’s resolve to promote open, fair, competitive and transparent bidding processes for both local and foreign bidders.

He said, the workshop would provide participants with information and enhance their understanding on various procurement requirements, as well as educate them on how to prepare and submit responsive and compliant bids.

Alhaji Fuseini Abu, Director of Procurement at the MiDA and a co-facilitator of the workshop, took participants through common mistakes often committed by bidders when bidding for contracts. Some mistakes include failure to sign bidding documents, wrong submission of proposal documents, improper labelling of envelopes containing bidding documents among others.

Mr. Kwadwo Osei-Asante, Senior Procurement Specialist at Charles Kendall and Partners (Procurement Agent for MiDA) co-facilitated the session on “Responding to Request for Proposals –Elements of a Responsive & Compliant Proposal.”

Participants were satisfied and commended MiDA for organising the workshop.
